Ramin Fathi, MD
Dr. Ramin Fathi, originally from Chicago, Illinois, graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois with a degree in Accounting. He then received his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, where he graduated at the top of his class and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his transitional year internship at the Colorado Health Foundation in Denver, Colorado and his Dermatology residency at the University of Colorado Denver, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he received advanced training in Mohs micrographic surgery and complex reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Fathi has written over 25 peer-reviewed scientific papers and book chapters, and has spoken at national meetings. He is a member and has held committee positions in the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Fathi is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
He looks forward to caring for patients in the Carlsbad and Vista areas, with a particular interest in common and rare skin cancers, as well as reconstructive surgery for Mohs surgery defects.
When he is away from the office, Dr. Fathi enjoys staying active with golf, tennis, basketball and snowboarding. He also enjoys traveling, trying new foods and spending time with his new wife.
