The Perfect Derma Peel

What is the Perfect Derma Peel?

The Perfect Derma Peel contains Glutathione, Kojic Acid, Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA), Retinoic Acid, Phenol, Salicylic Acid, and Vitamin C. The anti-oxidant Glutathione neutralizes the harmful effects of free radicals for healthier skin and can help significantly with hyperpigmentation. Kojic Acid is also a powerful lightening agent proven to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in skin that is brighter and tighter.  TCA, Phenol and Retinoic Acid reduce wrinkles and correct pigment problems, while Salicylic Acid exfoliates the skin and reduces inflammation.

What is the Perfect Derma Peel procedure like?

Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed, removing all traces of oil and dirt. The Perfect Derma Peel solution is then applied to the face and allowed to dry. There may be a slight burning or tingling sensation when the peel is applied that quickly dissipates within a few minutes. The peel is kept on the skin overnight and washed off the next morning. A post-peel kit will be provided, which contains products that will help you achieve the best result from your peel.

What is the recovery like following the Perfect Derma Peel?

Immediately after the treatment, the face may be slightly red and mildly swollen. The Perfect Derma Peel leaves an orange hue on the skin until it is washed off the next morning. For most patients, the recovery period is about one week. During the healing process, patients should avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure and wear a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to minimize the chance of hyperpigmentation. Peeling typically begins about 3 days after the peel is applied and usually takes about 3-4 days to finish.

What are the results of the Perfect Derma Peel like?

Benefits from a Perfect Derma Peel are usually seen in about one week. As new collagen develops, the results will continue to improve. Many patients will notice improvement in scars, softening of fine lines and wrinkles, lightening of pigmentation, decrease in acne and overall improvement in skin texture and tone. However, in order to achieve optimal results, more than one Perfect Derma Peel is necessary. Typically a series of 3-4 treatments spaced four weeks apart is recommended to achieve the best results.  For patients with more advanced acne or melasma, specific boosters can be added to your peel to augment the results of your treatment.

Can the Perfect Derma Peel be used on any other areas of the body?

Yes, patients can see excellent skin rejuvenation results with the VI Peel on the hands, chest, back as well as the face.

Who is a good candidate for the Perfect Derma Peel?

The Perfect Derma Peel is safe for all skin types and ethnicities, including darker skin tones.

What are the potential risks of a Perfect Derma Peel?

The Perfect Derma Peel is considered extremely safe. Most side effects are temporary, including minor swelling, itching and redness. Rarely, hyperpigmentation or dark spots may develop. In these cases, hyperpigmentation can be minimized by avoiding sun exposure and following the skincare regimen recommended to you by your physician.

How many Perfect Derma Peel treatments are needed?

For the best results, most patients will need a series of 3-4 Perfect Derma Peel treatments, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.

Can I have other treatments in conjunction with the Perfect Derma Peel?

The Perfect Derma Peel can provide excellent results on its own. However, by combining the Perfect Derma Peel with complimentary procedures and skincare products, even more optimal results can be seen. At your consultation, your physician may suggest additional noninvasive treatments that can help you to achieve desired results.
